adaption
Change to fit
Adaption is a variant of adaptation—the process of adjusting to new conditions or the result of such adjustment.
Both forms are correct, though adaptation is far more common in contemporary usage.
Adaption appears occasionally in British English and older texts: The species showed remarkable adaption to its environment.
