monomaniacs
People with fixations
Monomaniacs are people obsessed with a single idea, subject, or pursuit to an excessive degree.
The term suggests someone whose fixation crowds out other interests or concerns: The inventor was a monomaniac, talking of nothing but his perpetual motion machine.
It can be clinical or colloquial, sometimes used admiringly for singular focus, more often critically for tunnel vision.
