money-changer
Foreign exchange dealer
A money-changer is a person who exchanges one currency for another, typically for a fee or at a favorable rate.
The term evokes historical settings—marketplaces, temples, border crossings—where travelers needed local currency: Jesus drove the money-changers from the temple.
Today the function survives in airport kiosks and exchange bureaus, though the quaint term has largely given way to "currency exchange."
