mismeasurement
Getting dimensions wrong
Mismeasurement is an instance of measuring incorrectly—getting the wrong number, size, or quantity: A mismeasurement of the doorframe meant the new door wouldn't fit.
The term extends beyond physical dimensions to data, statistics, or any quantifiable assessment: The study's conclusions were undermined by mismeasurement of key variables.
