house rules
Custom game modifications
House rules are customized rules adopted for a particular setting, differing from official or standard rules.
Card games and board games commonly have house rules: Our house rules say you can't go out on a wild card.
The term extends to any local policies governing behavior: The house rules prohibit smoking indoors.
