military leave
Soldier's approved absence
Military leave is authorized absence from civilian employment for military service or training.
Employers in many countries must grant such leave and, in some cases, continue pay or benefits.
The term also applies within the military itself—time off granted to service members: He took military leave to attend his father's funeral.
