From that country
Mexicano is Spanish for Mexican—a person from Mexico or of Mexican descent.
In English contexts, it often appears in discussions of Latino identity or culture, particularly in the American Southwest where Spanish-English code-switching is common: My grandfather was mexicano, born in Guadalajara.
The term can carry connotations of cultural pride or authenticity.
