log pile
Stacked firewood collection
A log pile is a stack of cut logs, typically arranged for storage, drying, or later use as firewood or building material.
The term describes both casual heaps and more deliberately stacked arrangements: We built a log pile behind the shed for winter.
Log piles also provide habitat for insects and small animals.
