Locker room speech is crude, vulgar, or sexually explicit talk that men supposedly engage in when no women are present—the kind of banter heard in gym changing rooms.
The term gained prominence during the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign when Donald Trump dismissed a recording of himself making obscene comments about women as locker room talk.
The phrase often appears in defenses of such language, implying it's normal male behavior not meant to be taken seriously.
