lock screens
Device access barriers
Lock screens are the images or interfaces that appear when a device is locked but the display is active.
On phones and computers, the lock screen shows before you enter a password or PIN, typically displaying the time, date, and notifications.
People customize lock screens with photos or artwork: I set my cat as my lock screen.
The term also refers to the feature itself: My lock screen keeps timing out too fast.
