literacies
Multiple reading skills
Literacies is the plural of literacy, used when distinguishing different types or domains of competence.
Beyond basic reading and writing, the term encompasses specific skill sets: digital literacies, financial literacies, media literacies.
The plural acknowledges that being literate in one domain doesn't guarantee competence in another: The curriculum addresses multiple literacies needed for modern citizenship.
