lines of code
What developers write
Lines of code is a measure of software size or programmer productivity, counting the number of text lines in source code.
The metric is crude—a thousand lines of elegant code may do more than ten thousand lines of bloated code—but it persists in project estimation and developer comparisons: The application runs to about fifty thousand lines of code.
Often abbreviated LOC.
