limestone caves

Dissolved rock chambers

Limestone caves are natural underground chambers formed when slightly acidic groundwater dissolves limestone rock over thousands or millions of years.

They often feature dramatic formations—stalactites hanging from ceilings, stalagmites rising from floors—created by mineral deposits from dripping water.

The tour took us through limestone caves filled with ancient formations.
