library catalogs
Collection search systems
Library catalogs are organized records of materials held by a library—books, periodicals, media, and other resources.
Traditionally card-based systems arranged alphabetically by author, title, and subject, they have largely been replaced by searchable digital databases.
A catalog lets patrons find what's available and where: I searched the library catalog for books on beekeeping.
