lecture tours
Educational travel series
Lecture tours are series of public speaking engagements at different venues, typically by an author, academic, or public figure traveling from place to place.
The format dates to the nineteenth century, when speakers like Mark Twain drew paying audiences across the country.
Today lecture tours often accompany book releases or promote ideas: She's on a lecture tour for her new memoir.
