A latitude line is an imaginary horizontal line circling the Earth parallel to the equator, measuring position north or south in degrees.
The equator sits at zero degrees; the poles at ninety.
Major latitude lines have names: the Tropic of Cancer, the Tropic of Capricorn, the Arctic Circle.
