laterality
Favoring one side
Laterality refers to the preference for or dominance of one side of the body over the other.
Most commonly it describes handedness—whether someone is left-handed or right-handed—but extends to foot preference, eye dominance, and brain hemisphere specialization.
The child's laterality was still developing.
In medicine and psychology, laterality helps assess neurological function and development.
