landlocked state
No coastal borders
A landlocked state is a U.S. state with no coastline—no border with an ocean, gulf, or major body of water connecting to the sea.
States like Kansas, Nevada, and Wyoming are landlocked, while California and Florida are not.
The term also applies to countries without ocean access: Bolivia and Switzerland are landlocked states.
