land border
Overland national division
A land border is a boundary between countries or territories that crosses solid ground rather than water.
Countries sharing a land border are neighbors in the most immediate sense: The U.S. has land borders with Canada and Mexico.
The term distinguishes from maritime borders, which divide territorial waters.
