keyclick

Typing feedback noise

Keyclick is the sound made when a key on a keyboard or keypad is pressed, or an electronic simulation of that sound.

Many devices offer keyclick feedback as an audio confirmation that a keystroke has registered, which can be toggled on or off in settings.

I turned off the keyclick because it was annoying my coworkers.

The term also appears in amateur radio contexts, where keyclick refers to unwanted interference caused by the sharp on-off transitions of Morse code transmissions.
