keelback

Asian aquatic snake

A keelback is a small, nonvenomous snake found in Asia and Australia, named for the ridged or keeled scales running along its back.

Keelbacks are semiaquatic, often living near water where they hunt frogs and fish.

Some species can safely eat poisonous toads that would kill other snakes.
