kamikaze attacks
One-way bombing runs
Kamikaze attacks are suicide missions, originally Japanese military tactics in World War II where pilots deliberately crashed explosive-laden aircraft into enemy targets.
The term now applies to any attack where the attacker expects or intends to die: The bombing was a kamikaze attack on the embassy.
The word comes from Japanese for "divine wind."
