judo belt
Colored rank indicator
A judo belt is the colored sash worn around a judoka's waist, indicating rank and skill level.
Beginners wear white belts, advancing through colors like yellow, orange, green, blue, and brown before reaching black belt.
The system has spread to other martial arts: She's working toward her next judo belt.
