journalize
Write in ledger
To journalize is to record transactions in a journal, especially in accounting.
Each entry captures the date, accounts affected, and amounts debited or credited: The bookkeeper journalized the day's sales before closing.
The term also applies to keeping a personal journal, though this use is less common than the accounting sense.
