jerker
One who tugs
A jerker is someone or something that jerks—that is, moves with sudden, sharp motions or pulls abruptly.
The word appears most often in compounds: a *soda jerker* (now old-fashioned) worked behind a soda fountain, and a *tear-jerker* is a sentimental movie, book, or song designed to make you cry.
In cruder usage, jerker can refer to someone who masturbates, from the slang sense of *jerk off*.
