jai-alai

Cesta ball sport

Jai-alai is a fast-paced court game in which players use curved wicker baskets strapped to their wrists to catch and hurl a hard ball against a wall.

The sport originated in the Basque region of Spain and became popular in Florida and Latin America, often associated with gambling.

We watched jai-alai at the fronton in Miami.
