iron stain
Ferrous oxide mark
An iron stain is a rust-colored discoloration caused by iron oxide, typically appearing on fabric, stone, porcelain, or concrete after contact with iron-rich water or metal objects: The old pipes left iron stains in the sink.
These brownish-orange marks are notoriously difficult to remove with ordinary cleaners, often requiring specialized rust removers or acids.
