introversion
Preference for solitude
Introversion is a personality orientation toward one's inner world rather than external stimulation.
Introverts typically recharge through solitude and find extended social interaction draining, though this doesn't necessarily mean shyness or social anxiety.
After the party, I needed a day of introversion to recover.
The concept gained wide currency through the Myers-Briggs personality framework, where it contrasts with extroversion.
