intermarrying
Families joining through matrimony
Intermarrying is the practice of marrying across group boundaries—between different races, religions, ethnicities, or social classes.
The term often appears in discussions of cultural assimilation or isolation: The two communities had been intermarrying for generations.
It can also describe marriage between members of the same extended family or clan: European royal families were intermarrying to consolidate power.
