ink pot
Container for writing fluid
An ink pot is a small container for holding ink, typically used with a dip pen or quill.
Before modern pens with internal reservoirs, writers kept an ink pot on the desk and dipped their pens repeatedly while writing.
The term is largely historical, though ink pots persist in calligraphy: She dipped her brush into the ink pot.
