inducible

Able to trigger

Inducible describes something that can be induced—brought about, caused, or triggered by specific conditions.

The term appears most often in biology and medicine: an inducible enzyme is one whose production increases in response to a particular substance, and inducible gene expression can be switched on experimentally.

Outside technical contexts, inducible simply means capable of being induced.
