imagos
Fully developed insects
Imagos is the plural of imago, an insect in its final, sexually mature stage of development—the adult form that emerges after metamorphosis from larva and pupa.
A butterfly is the imago of a caterpillar.
In Jungian psychology, an imago is an idealized mental image of a person, especially a parent, formed in childhood and persisting unconsciously into adulthood.
The Latin plural imagines also appears.
