imagoes
Fully developed bugs
Imagoes is the plural of imago, with two distinct uses.
In entomology, an imago is the final adult stage of an insect after metamorphosis—the butterfly that emerges from the chrysalis.
In psychology, particularly Jungian, an imago is an idealized mental image of a person, especially a parent, formed in childhood and persisting unconsciously into adulthood.
The Latin plural imagines also appears in technical writing.
