hypnophobia
Fear of slumber
Hypnophobia is an irrational fear of falling asleep.
The anxiety may stem from fear of nightmares, losing control, or not waking up.
Unlike ordinary reluctance to go to bed, hypnophobia causes significant distress and avoidance: Her hypnophobia kept her awake until exhaustion took over.
