hydroformed
Fluid-pressure shaped
Hydroformed describes metal that has been shaped using high-pressure hydraulic fluid.
The process forces metal sheets or tubes against a die, creating complex curves and seamless shapes impossible with traditional stamping.
Common in automotive manufacturing for chassis components and bicycle frames: The hydroformed aluminum tubes give the frame both strength and light weight.
