hybrid-creature

Two species combined

A hybrid-creature combines features of two or more different animals or beings—like a centaur (human and horse) or griffin (eagle and lion).

The term appears in fantasy, mythology, and speculative fiction to describe beings that couldn't exist through natural reproduction: The bestiary was full of hybrid-creatures from ancient myth.

In scientific contexts, actual hybrids like mules or ligers are typically just called hybrids, without the creature suffix.
