homozygote
Same-gene pair carrier
A homozygote is an organism with two identical copies of a particular gene—one inherited from each parent.
The term contrasts with heterozygote, where the two copies differ.
If both parents carry the recessive gene, their child may be a homozygote for the trait.
The adjective is homozygous: homozygous for blue eyes.
