hooklet

Small curved catch

A hooklet is a small hook, typically one of many found on biological structures.

The term appears most often in zoology and botany, describing the tiny curved projections on tapeworm heads that help them attach to intestinal walls, or the miniature hooks on certain seeds that aid dispersal by clinging to animal fur.

The tapeworm's hooklets allow it to anchor firmly to the host's gut lining.
