homecomer

One who returns

A homecomer is someone who returns home, especially after a long absence.

The word appears most often around homecoming events at schools and universities, where homecomers are alumni returning for reunions and football games: Homecomers filled the stands for the big game.

It can also describe anyone coming back to a place of origin: The village welcomed its homecomers after the war.
