hill climbs
Steep road races
Hill climbs are motorsport events where vehicles race individually up a steep, winding course, typically on a closed public road or purpose-built track.
Competitors are timed rather than racing head-to-head: She set a new record at the Pikes Peak hill climb.
The term also applies to cycling races up mountain roads and, more casually, to any challenging uphill drive or ride.
