half-bloods

Half-bloods are people of mixed ancestry, typically with parents from different racial, ethnic, or social groups.

The term often carries derogatory or dismissive connotations, implying impurity or incomplete belonging to either heritage.

In fantasy fiction, particularly the Harry Potter series, half-blood describes someone with one magical and one non-magical parent, where it functions as a neutral descriptor rather than an insult: Snape called himself the Half-Blood Prince.
