hackery

Low-effort political writing

Hackery is work that is competent but uninspired—the output of a hack.

The term applies especially to writing, journalism, or creative work that follows formulas without originality: The film was pure Hollywood hackery.

In computing contexts, hackery can mean clever but inelegant programming, or the culture and practice of hacking generally.
