gup
Trivial talk, rumors
Gup is chiefly British or Indian English for idle talk, gossip, or foolish chatter: Don't listen to that gup.
The word suggests trivial or unreliable information—rumor rather than fact.
It can also be an exclamation dismissing something as nonsense: Gup! That's ridiculous.
