gunwomen

Armed women fighters

Gunwomen is the plural of gunwoman—a female who carries or uses a gun, especially skillfully or professionally.

The term parallels gunman but sees far less use, partly because gunman often serves as the generic: Police are searching for a gunman covers suspects of any sex.

Gunwoman appears mainly when a writer wants to specify female identity or avoid the masculine default.
