gunwoman
Woman with firearm
A gunwoman is a woman who uses a gun, particularly in a criminal context such as a robbery or shooting.
The term parallels gunman but specifies female gender.
News reports occasionally use it when the shooter or armed suspect is known to be a woman: Police are searching for the gunwoman who fled the scene.
It remains far less common than gunman, which is often used generically regardless of the shooter's sex.
