Doors opening skyward
Gull-wing describes a door hinged at the roof that swings upward when opened, resembling a seagull's wings in flight.
The design appears on sports cars and some vans, where conventional doors would be impractical: The DeLorean's gull-wing doors made it instantly recognizable.
Also used for aircraft wings that angle upward from the fuselage before leveling out.
