political murals
Propaganda wall art
Political murals are large-scale paintings on walls or buildings that convey ideological messages, commemorate movements, or assert community identity.
They range from government-sanctioned propaganda to grassroots protest art.
The murals of revolutionary Mexico, the sectarian walls of Belfast, and neighborhood murals celebrating civil rights all fall under this category.
The political murals transformed the neighborhood into an open-air gallery of resistance.
