grief's
Belonging to heartache
Grief's is the possessive form of grief, the deep sorrow felt after loss.
It attributes qualities or effects to that emotional state: grief's weight, grief's long shadow, grief's unexpected timing.
The form allows grief to be personified as something that possesses or acts upon the mourner.
