gravity hills
Slope perception tricks
Gravity hills are locations where the surrounding terrain creates an optical illusion making a slight downhill slope appear to be an uphill slope.
A car in neutral seems to roll uphill against gravity; water appears to flow the wrong direction.
Also called magnetic hills or mystery hills.
The phenomenon results from obscured or skewed horizon lines, not any actual gravitational anomaly.
We stopped at the gravity hill to watch our car "roll uphill."
