Mob guy's buddy
Goombah is Italian-American slang for a close friend or associate, especially among men.
The term carries strong overtones of organized crime—a goombah may be a fellow mobster or someone connected to that world: He's one of Tony's goombahs from the old neighborhood.
Outside mob contexts, it can simply mean a buddy or compatriot, though the Mafia association lingers.
Sometimes used dismissively for a stereotypical Italian-American man.
